我国人多地少,要在占世界7%的耕地上,养活占世界22%的人口,粮食生产任务是艰巨的。而且,我国的耕地正以每年800万亩的速度减少,而人口则以每年1000万的速度增加,解决人地矛盾的出路何在?理论和实践证明,立体农业综合开发是可行的出路之一。立体农业是在人多地少的条件下发展起来的,是以劳力、技术密集为主的集约经营的农业生产方式,是我国传统农业技术和现代科学技术相结合的产物,是符合我国国情、农情、民情的,对建设具有中国特色的农业技术体系有着重要的意义。
