中医专业英语班学生的英语教学目的是为了传播中医和发展中医药事业,需要把培养学生中医英语翻译能力作为教学的重点和终极目标。然而目前中医专业英语教学并不尽如人意,达不到国家对学生翻译能力的要求。结合中医院校的教学特点,以及作者多年来中医专业英语教学实践,文章提出中医学专业英语班英语教学应把重点转移到培养学生中医汉译英能力方面上来;并就中医英语教学中培养学生翻译能力的重要意义和紧迫性进行了探讨。
The purpose of English teaching for Chinese medicine students is to spread Chinese medicine and develop Chinese medicine. It is necessary to cultivate students’ English translation ability as the key and ultimate goal of teaching. However, at present, English teaching of TCM is not satisfactory, which can not meet the requirements of the state for students’ translation ability. Combining the characteristics of teaching in Chinese medicine colleges and universities and the author’s teaching practice of Chinese medicine major for many years, the article proposes that English teaching of Chinese medicine major should be shifted to cultivating students’ ability of translating Chinese medicine into Chinese. On the other hand, The importance and urgency of translation ability are discussed.
