锻件在模锻后有许多辅助工序,需要在切边压力机上进行,例如切飞边、冲内连皮、压弯、形状校正等。这些辅助工序最好在一台切边压力机上顺序进行,这样周期短、效率高、便于机械化、自动化。可是,目前一般锻工车间的切边设备多选用单点压力机,其工作台面较窄,不能并排安放两副模具,而且也不允许偏裁使用,这就要求发展新的工作台面较宽的、有一定承受偏载能力的切边压力机,以适应工艺发展的需要。
