介绍我国西部地区塔里木、准噶尔、吐哈和柴达木等盆地生产天然气的前景，指出西部地区天然气的理想市场在东部沿海一带，尤其是长江三角洲地区，因为东部沿海地区急需以气代煤，其发展也需要大量天然气。提出西气东输的两个输气方案及相应的经济起输量，建议加大勘探力度，促成我国西部天然气早日东输。
The prospects of natural gas production in Tarim, Junggar, Turpan-Hami and Qaidam basins in western China are introduced. It is pointed out that the ideal market for natural gas in the western region is in the eastern coastal areas, especially in the Yangtze River Delta region. Since the eastern coastal areas urgently need to replace coal with gas, Development also requires a lot of natural gas. Proposed two gas transmission programs for the west-east gas transmission and the corresponding economic take-off and transport volume. It is proposed to increase exploration efforts so as to bring the natural gas in the west of China to an east long-term transport as soon as possible.
