随着世界人口的不断增加,人类需要的能源将愈来愈多,而煤炭、石油、天然气的储量却愈开愈少,于是,人们便将更多的精力转向利用大自然中的太阳能、风力、水力、潮汐及地热发电等等。近50多年来,人们在利用太阳能采暖、空调、热水浴等方面取得了很大成绩,而太阳能汽车、太阳能发电等等,也都在不断发展。近年来,很多国家在太阳能发电方面取得了实质性的进展。美国在亚利桑那洲沙漠中建造了太阳能发电站,目前,不但可进行正常发电,而且电站又成为旅游新景点,真可谓一举两得。
