The global seismic activity in the first quarter of 1987 showed an active trend. After the earthquake, the number of moderate-strong earthquakes in the world increased. Earthquakes along the northern margin of the Pacific have been slow to develop. Earthquake activity in Asia-Europe zone is relatively quiet.
