Film boiling is an important heat transfer condition in the submergence phase of reactor water loss. The thermal imbalance between the two phases is an important feature of this condition. The lowest membrane boiling temperature is also one of the major influence parameters of submergence speed. However, up to now, these aspects still lack sufficient experimental data and appropriate analytical models, and the formulas vary greatly.
