日本国立卫生试验所是日本厚生省直属的研究所之一,其前身为东京药物管理所,创建于1874年。此后几经扩展,1978年在研究所内又增设了安全性生物试验研究中心。目前该所下设17个部,一个大阪分所和5个药用植物栽培试验场。1989年的全年经费为2350万美金,工作人员共280人,其中药学、兽医学、农学、化学、医学、理学、农艺化学、工学、生物学、畜产学、卫生学和营养学等各类专业研究人员205人。
Japan National Health Laboratory is one of the research institutes directly under the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan, formerly known as the Tokyo Drug Administration, founded in 1874. After several extensions, in 1978 in the Institute and the addition of a safety biological test research center. At present, the institute has 17 ministries, one Osaka branch and five medicinal plant cultivation test sites. In 1989, the total funding for the year was 23.5 million U.S. dollars and the staff was 280.
