The merger of Lyon church in 1274 is an important evidence to examine the relationship between the late Byzantium and the Pope. It temporarily relieved the threat of the restoration of power in Latin and saved the Byzantian from falling again. In the face of a Turkish strong enemy attack, most of the Byzantine rulers of the late Joseon Church were merged into a single ruler, and through the merger of the Eastern and Western churches, the Pope sought the help of the Pope. The reason for the merging of the Lyon churches was discovered, and when it was discovered that the difficult situation faced by Byzantine in the later days provided an opportunity for the merging of the churches in Lyon. Byzantine’s unique church-state relationship and the increased political influence of the Pope provided an important guarantee for church mergers.
