Objective To analyze the incidence of nosocomial complications and malignant cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) with elevated blood glucose levels and to explore its correlation. Methods A total of 138 inpatients with ACS were enrolled in this study. According to the results of blood glucose analysis, patients with ACS were divided into group A, ACS and group B with hyperglycemia. The incidence of cardiovascular events during the hospitalization was observed. Results Severe arrhythmia, angina pectoris, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock and cardiac death in group B were significantly higher than those in group A (P <0.05). Conclusions Elevated blood glucose levels are a strong predictor of survival and hospital-based complications in ACS patients.
