江南都市文化是一个重要的研究课题,它可以启发我们探索江南文化的内在体系以及中国城市发展的脉络。本期刊发四篇关于江南都市群的起源、发展及其审美生态方面的学术文章目的即在于此。由于自然地理、经济生产方式及文化传统等历史原因,位于中国长江三角洲的江南区域都市群体间经济文化联系一直相当密切。传统的江南都市文化是中国诗性文化的重要表现形态,其基本特点体现为审美与实用浑然、市井烟火与高雅品位共生的一种诗意生活方式。但近百年来,江南都市关系有一个重要的变化,就是上海的崛起并迅速改变了江南都市之间历史延续下来的经济与文化结构。上海城市发展从一开始就表现出外贸型的商业机制,这是它对传统“苏杭型”城市的超越之处。
Jiangnan metropolitan culture is an important research topic, which can inspire us to explore the inherent system of Jiangnan culture and the context of urban development in China. This issue contains four articles about the origin, development and aesthetic ecology of Jiangnan metropolitan area. Due to historical reasons such as natural geography, economic mode of production and cultural traditions, the economic and cultural ties between the urban agglomerations in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta in China have been fairly close. The traditional urban culture in the south of Yangtze River is an important manifestation of Chinese poetic culture. Its basic characteristics are embodied as a poetic way of living symbiosis of aesthetic and practicality, marketplace fireworks and elegant taste. However, in the recent one hundred years, there has been an important change in the urban relations in the south of Yangtze River. This is the rise of Shanghai and the rapid transformation of the economic and cultural structure that has lasted since the history of the southern city. Shanghai’s urban development has demonstrated a trade-based commercial mechanism from the very beginning, which is its transcendence over the traditional “Suhang-type” city.
