CBI(Content-based Instruction)是基于内容的语言教学理念,教学重点从学习语言本身转移到通过学科知识的学习来习得语言技能。通过问卷调查和访谈获悉理工科大学生的学术英语能力现状,探讨了CBI的实践模式,多角度分析验证了以内容为依托的教学模式在学术英语能力培养中的可行性和可操作性。从语言技能教学策略和知识内容教学策略两方面体现了大学生的学术英语能力培养途径。在语言技能教学中,教师充当支架作用,采用科技词汇习得、学术英语听说技能培养和学术写作能力培养等途径,提高学术英语能力。知识内容教学策略强调以知识内容为主体,进行语篇体裁分析,以提高学术英语能力。
CBI (Content-based Instruction) is a content-based language teaching philosophy. Its teaching focuses on the acquisition of language skills from the learning language itself to the learning through subject knowledge. Through questionnaires and interviews, we learned the status quo of academic English ability of college students of science and engineering, explored the practice mode of CBI, and analyzed and verified the feasibility and operability of teaching mode based on content in the cultivation of academic English ability from multiple perspectives. From the aspects of language skills teaching strategy and knowledge content teaching strategy, the ways of cultivating college students’ academic English ability are embodied. In language skills teaching, teachers play a role as scaffolding, using technology vocabulary acquisition, listening and speaking skills in academic English and academic writing ability training and other ways to improve academic English ability. Knowledge content teaching strategy emphasizes the content of knowledge as the main body, text genre analysis to improve academic English ability.
