随着经济的发展,艺术设计将渗入人们生活的每一个方面,甚至影响人的行为和生活方式。因此,对艺术设计师提出了更高的要求——解读人的内心世界。视觉艺术设计是一种理性创造活动。它的特点是以人为本,以造型艺术为表现形式,与科学技术相结合,为实现一个精神与物质并重的人文环境而进行的。环境艺术设计、工业设计、装潢设计、室内没计、展示设计、服装设计等都归属于视觉艺术设计范畴。不同行业的设计师应具备的专业素质有所不同,但他们应具备的内在素质却大体相同。视觉艺术设计师的内在素质包括诸多方面,如:
