杀虫双是根据沙蚕含有的“沙蚕毒素”的化学结构而人工合成的沙蚕毒素类的仿生杀虫剂。对害虫具 有强的触杀和胃毒作用,害虫接触和取食药剂后,表现出迟纯、行动缓慢,失去侵害作物的能力,停止发育,虫体软化、瘫痪直至死亡。杀虫双又有很强的内吸作用,能被作物的根、叶等吸收而传导。颗粒剂具有使用方便、药效长、不受气候条件影响等优点,尤其适合于防治稻螟虫等钻蛀性害虫。还可与除草剂、化肥混合使用,既防虫又除草,江口镇1990年引进5%杀虫双颗粒剂26000公斤防治四代三化螟,示范面积10400亩,使全镇平均白穗率降低到0.087%;1991年推广57500公斤,防治面积23000亩次,有效地控制三化螟的危害,使大发生之年损失甚微。早稻平均白穗率为0.12%,晚稻平均白穗率仅0.07%。
