一敦煌县档案馆于一九五八年十一月一日成立,一九六六年十月撤销,一九七七年十月又恢复。一九八二年十二月三十一日成立县档案局,局馆两块牌子,一套人马。档案馆是县委、县人民政府直属的科学文化事业机构,集中统一管理全县党、政档案。馆内制定了有关规章制度,购置了档案柜和复印机、照像机、放大机、吸尘器、灭火器设备,为发挥档案的作用 A Dunhuang Archives was established on November 1, 1958, revoked in October 1966 and resumed in October 1977.
