In this paper, we use econometric models to examine the potential determinants of foreign direct investment in China’s food industry. The results show that the size of the market, the average size of the enterprise, the degree of market development, the value-added rate, the degree of industrial agglomeration and industrial policy are important determinants of foreign direct investment in China’s food industry. Labor costs may not be important for the current FDI in China’s food industry Determinants, or this advantage is weakening. On this basis, combined with China’s actual situation, we give a brief conclusion and policy implications.
