Alexander Csoma, born in Krs, is the founder of the well-known Tibetan study and the founder of Tibetan studies. Until recently, he was not only the first European to have lived in Zankar for years but also the only European to experience it. He arrived there in June 1823 and left 16 months later. August 1825 to December 1826 he went to Zang Karma. Therefore, Joma lived there for a total of 31 months, which of course set the highest record.
