一年来,在现场短新闻评选活动推动下,新闻界同行们比较重视现场短新闻的采写,现场短新闻逐渐在版面上活跃起来。但是,除了为数不多的比较精彩而外。还存在两种较常见的缺陷:要么现场所见甚少,背景材料过多;要么现场写得虽细,新闻价值不大。1990年7月25日人民日报二版刊发的一篇现场特写《逛“跳蚤市场”》堪称为既有现场、又有新闻的佳作。据笔者所知,在这篇报道之前,国内报纸还未曾有过关于“跳蚤市场”的报道,这篇报道刊发之后,人民日报刊出过关于跳蚤市场的杂文,有的报纸还刊出了关于跳蚤市场产生在欧洲国家的资料。这篇报道刊发的时候,我们国内绝大多数读者对“跳蚤市场”究竟为何物,还不清楚。因此,这一读者未知、欲知而又应知的新鲜事物,决定了这篇报
