英国诗人、版画家、英国浪漫主义运动的先驱威廉.布莱克是一位重要的诗人,他的名篇《老虎》中隐喻的深邃意义一直被世人赞叹不已。此诗用惊人的想象力把老虎给人的印象比喻为“烧穿了黑夜的森林和草莽”的辉煌的火,把老虎身上的那种威武、神秘而又辉煌的力量之美表达了出来。本文试图从认知隐喻的角度释读“老虎”一词的多重象征意义,以期达到对该首作品更加深刻的理解。
British poet, printmaker, William Blake, a pioneer of the British Romantic Movement, is an important poet. The profound significance of his metaphor “Tiger” has been praised by the world. This poem impresses the tiger with an amazing imagination as a “brilliant fire burning through the forests and savannas of the night,” and expresses the beauty of the mighty, mysterious and magnificent power of the tiger . This article attempts to interpret the multiple symbolic meanings of “tiger” from the perspective of cognitive metaphor in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the first work.
