当我国先民的审美意识刚刚萌芽的时候,就知道用黑色来美饰器物了。在一件新石器时期的鱼纹彩陶盆上,画着三条鱼,都是黑色的。半坡遗址出土的彩陶盆上的纹饰,如大多用黑色颜料绘成的。这种尚黑的意识也体现在先民重大的社会活动和宗教仪式上,《礼记》曰:“夏后氏尚黑。”墨缘于黑,中国古人的书画作品,绝大多数都以黑色为之,而与西方用蓝、赭绿色的习惯不同。于此可以找到答案。
