自从1959年Zellig Harris提出元话语这一概念以来,学者的研究范围从研究语篇包含的内容扩大到研究语篇的人际手段。元话语理论把写作过程看作社会活动,认为交际活动不仅交换信息、商品或服务,而且涉及交际参加者的性格、态度和观点。本文主要探讨了元话语在语篇建构中的功能特征,旨在说明元话语对建构语篇起到了充实人际功能与语篇功能的作用。
Since Zellig Harris proposed the concept of meta-discourse in 1959, scholars’ research scope has expanded from the content of research discourse to interpersonal means of discourse study. Metadiscourse theory treats the process of writing as social activity, believing that communicative activities not only exchange information, goods, or services, but also the personality, attitudes and perspectives of communicators. This paper mainly discusses the functional features of meta-discourse in discourse construction, and aims to show that meta-discourse plays a role in enriching interpersonal function and discourse function in constructing discourse.
