近年来,辽宁新民县机械林场,从1979—1980年营造的美×青杨(Populea pyramidalis×Cathayana)、健杨(P.×Euramericana CV.Robusta)、新民二号杨(P.xiaozhuanica xinmin №.2)幼林地连续几年植株地上部发生大面积死亡。作者在感病枝上分离出一种寄生危险的溃疡病菌,经初步鉴定为球二孢属真菌(Botryodiplodia Sp.),该属真菌过去在杨树上从未见有报导,近年,印度的P.S.Rehill, Y.
