It is learned that the global economic recession and the weak demand for petrochemical products have caused tremendous impact on the profits of the top petrochemical producers in Asia in the recent quarter. In the third quarter of 2008, Hindustan Reliance Industries net profit fell 10% to Rs 35 crores ($ 714 million); sales revenue fell 7% YoY to Rs 32.2 crore.
