This paper introduces the promotion of Question 21 involved in analytic geometry of the college entrance examination in Hunan Science and Engineering Volume in 2012. The points of the curve C1 in the Cartesian coordinate system xOy are all outside C2: (x-5) 2 + y2 = 9, The distance from any point M on C1 to the straight line x = -2 is equal to the distance between this point and the point on circle C2
