一早在1940年2月,国史馆筹备委员会在重庆歌乐山成立,国民政府主席林森委任张继为主任委员,聘请朱希祖为秘书长(不久改成总干事)。金毓黻是朱希祖的学生兼同事,他1913—1916年求学于北京大学之时,曾跟随朱希祖学习文学史两年;他1936年9月后任教于中央大学史学系,朱希祖时为中央大学史学系主任。他们皆喜欢藏书,1937年9月日本轰炸南京,朱希祖欲将藏书运至安徽休宁戴震藏书楼,托学生戴伯瑚保管,金毓黻时任安
Early in February 1940, the National History Museum Preparatory Committee was established in Geelong Mountain, Chongqing. Chairman of the National Government Lin Sen appointed Zhang Jiwei as the chairman and hired Zhu Xizu as secretary general (soon to be the Director-General). He was a student and colleague of Zhu Xizu. When he studied at Peking University from 1913 to 1916, he studied literature history with Zhu Xizu for two years. From September 1936 to June 1936, he taught at the Central University Department of History and Zhu Xizu was the director of Central History Department . They all like to collect books. Japan bombed Nanjing in September 1937, and Zhu Xizu tried to carry the collection to the Dai Xian Library in Xiuning, Anhui Province.
