The International Network for Genetic Evaluation for Rice (INGER) is a global project of international cooperation based on the principle of resource sharing and information sharing coordinated by the International Rice Research Institute. China has been involved in research since 1980. As members of INGER network can obtain and utilize rice germplasm resources provided by countries all over the world for free, participation in INGER collaborative research is one of the most effective ways to introduce foreign rice germplasm resources. According to incomplete statistics, by 2001, China had introduced over 18,000 rice germplasm types from all over the world and directly proclaimed it to promote 35 items
