Gas fuel is developing vigorously in China and the natural gas becomes new pet of energy.However,China is worrying about the supply-demand tension of natural gas.The abundant coal-bed gas in China becomes ideal alternatives of natural gas,which has already attracted attentions of China’s decision-makers.As main force,CHINACBM is now meeting its opportunity for development.According to new round of National Coal-bed Gas Resources Estimation(2005),China has signi cant coal-bed gas resources.Cooperation with foreign companies in coal-bed gas exploitation is the main foreign investment area encouraged by Chinese government.Referring to foreign cooperation experience of China’s o shore oil and land oil and gas,CHINACBM considers products sharing arrangement as its leading model for foreign cooperation.Till the end of July 2006,CHINACBM has signed 27 coal-bed gas products sharing arrangements with 16 foreign enterprises.China hope coal-bed gas becomes one of the major rising energy industries as soon as possible.In spite of good opportunities,there are lots of di culties that need to be overcame if coal-bed industry wants to realize the goal of large-scale commercialization production.
