在经济腾飞的时代,在党和国家有关地方煤矿发展方针的正确指导下,太行山麓,有一座文明生产、质量达标的矿井——河南省辉县吴村煤矿。 吴村矿1974年投产,设计能力为15万吨,1980年核定能力21万吨。经自力更生挖潜改造,自1977年以来年生产量均在40万吨以上。至1986年底,共生产原煤479.16万吨,累计实现利润3034.59万元,为建井投资450万元的6.7倍之多。随生产能力增加,安全状况也很好,自1985年5月27日至1987年11月30日的918天中,无死亡,无重大机电设备事故, 其间生产原煤114.8万吨,创造了百万吨无死亡事故的纪录。1987年前11个月,已生产原煤44.2万吨,为年计划的134％,实现利润125.6万元,全员工效达每工1.1吨。
