Objective To observe the expression of SULT1A1 and sex hormone receptor in uterine fibroids and to explore its clinical significance. Methods Sixty patients with uterine leiomyoma treated in our hospital from February 2015 to February 2016 were enrolled as myoma group. Sixty healthy adult women with normal physical examination were selected as the control group. To observe the positive expression rates of SULT1A1 and sex hormone receptors in myoma and normal myometrial tissues and to compare the difference of SULT1A1 and sex hormone receptor expression in patients with uterine fibroids with different clinicopathological features, and to analyze the correlation between the expression of SULT1A1 and sex hormone receptor Rate factor. Results The positive rate of SULT1A1 in myoma group was lower than that in control group, and the positive rates of ER and PR were higher than those in control group (P <0.05) SULT1A1 positive rate in uterine fibroids≥5 cm was lower than that in normal uterine fibroids, while the positive rates of ER and PR were higher in patients with uterine fibroids than those in uterine fibroids with or without fertility history, hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia (P> 0.05). Logistic regression analysis was used to determine whether the positive expression was considered as the dependent variable by using univariate analysis of the significant age, myoma number and myoma diameter as independent variables. The results showed that the number of age and fibroids into the regression equation, indicating that the number of age and fibroids affect the SULT1A1 and sex hormone receptor-positive expression. Conclusion SULT1A1 is low expressed in patients with uterine myoma and sex hormone receptor is highly expressed in patients with uterine fibroids, and is influenced by the age and fibroid number.
