Yu Youjin, who was deprived of the membership of Central CPC Committee in 2008, returned to the public in a low profile in 2011. It is said that he has become a member of the editorial board of Annals of the Yellow Emperor, a famous political magazine of China. He, along with other three people, was chosen into the editorial board of the magazine. Their names were shown on the latest issue.
In 2006, Yu Youjun, current governor of Shanxi Province, once published an article named Ren Zhongyi – a Graceful Mentor for People Younger than Him in the magazine (December issue 2006).
The Annals of the Yellow Emperor was established in 1991 and the China Association of Studying Yellow and Yan Emporers’ Culture. Its present president is Du Daozheng, former director of the National Administration of News and Publication. The magazine usually carries the commentary articles about history. The writers include the senior members of the CPC, famous authors and scholars. It often publishes some sensitive events of the CPC’s history and works out results different from the official results. Thus it received a lot of attention.
Yu Youjun, 59, once took the mayor of Shenzhen, vice governor of Hunan Province, governor of Shanxi Province, Party Group Chief and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture. In December 2008, Yu Youjun was deprived of his membership in the Central CPC Committee and the position as the Vice Minister of Culture. It was said that he got a huge amount of illegal profits via malpractice in government bidding when he was the mayor of Shenzhen.
In February 2011, the Xinhua News Agency reported that Yu Youjun had been out of the twoyear observation period and was appointed deputy director of the South-to-North Water Division of the State Council.
