The latest statistics on the reuse of bitumen shingles in Massachusetts show that the annual production of bitumen shingle in the United States is 13 million tons, most of which will be poured into landfills in the next 20 years. Every year in Massachusetts, 210,000 tons of asphalt shingles are to be cleared and the state's environmental protection department intends to refrain from dumping this material into landfill after the market is able to digest at least 75% of the total amount of waste.
