The Pitch and Loudness graph uses the instantaneous frequency Fx and the sound pressure peak + Ax to represent each vocal tract vibrational period of the entire vowel. The “voice establishment” is represented by the waveform diagrams of the sound pressure Sp and the laryngeal electrogram Lx (FIG. 7). The vocal fold closure is manually added in Figure 6, while the vocal closure in Figure 7 is automatically detected using the leading edge of the Lx waveform.
