In metal mines where the ore needs to be ground to fine grain size to meet the sorting requirements, the excess fine particles produced by blasting are generally not considered to be a problem. These mines should choose unit explosives consumption based on the cost of follow-up operations for both mining and beneficiation-improving blasting fragmentation during blasting would not only reduce the workload of crushing and grinding but would also increase ore loading rates and reduce maintenance
