王宠佑,宇佐臣,广东省东莞县人。1899年毕业于北洋大学采冶系。1904年获美国哥伦比亚大学矿业和地质学硕士,后又留学英、法、德国,获得博士学位。1908年回国后,前期先后担任长沙煤矿公司技师,长沙华昌炼锑厂冶金专家及总工程师,广西省政府采矿工程师,广东军政府采矿工程师,汉冶萍公司大冶铁矿矿长,汉口炼锑厂顾问、采矿工程师,华盛顿太平洋会议中国代表团顾问,北京浏河口矿业公司扬子高炉经理、技术部主任等职。30年代初起,曾任汉口商品检验局副局长、局长,资源委员会委员、经济部技正、经济部商品检验局局长等职。抗战胜利后去美定居,任纽约华昌公司(李国钦创办)研究部主任、顾问。
Wang Chongyou, Yu Zuochen, from Dongguan County, Guangdong Province. In 1899 graduated from the mining and metallurgy department of Beiyang University. In 1904, he received a master’s degree in mining and geology from Columbia University in the United States. He later studied English, French and German and received a doctorate. After returning to China in 1908, he successively served as technician of Changsha Coal Mine Company, metallurgical expert and chief engineer of Changsha Huachang Smelting Plant, mining engineer of Guangxi Provincial Government, mining engineer of Guangdong Military Government, chief of Daye Iron Mine of Hanyeping, Hankou Refinery锑 Plant consultants, mining engineers, consultants for the Chinese delegation to the Washington Pacific Conference, manager of Yangzi blast furnace in Beijing Liuhekou Mining Company, and director of the technical department. Since the early 1930s, he served as deputy director and director of the Hankou Commodity Inspection Bureau, member of the Resources Committee, director of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Director of the Commodity Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he settled in the United States and served as Director and Consultant of the Research Department of New York Huachang Company (founded by Li Guoqin).
