影片《大桥下面》获得成功,而导演白沉同志却人瘦花黄,白发增霜。他把毕生的才华、心血和精力,全部浇灌在艺术奇葩之上了。如今,为数众多的青年观众,可能对这位驰骋影坛一生的老导演,不那么熟悉吧? 白沉同志,原名田祖恒,安徽怀远县人。1938年抗战之初,他曾随扬帆等同志,投身皖南新四军军部服务团,改名田荒。1939年6月入党。他曾和张茜同志(陈毅夫人)同台演出过话剧《一年间》、《第四十一》等。后因工作需要、由组织调上海参加由夏衍,于伶领导的“上海剧艺社”,改名白沉。曾参加演出《赛金花》、《武则天》、《家》、《边城故事》、《文天祥》、《升官图》等剧。由于他的杰出表演,展现了他做为一名优秀演员的卓越才华而蜚声剧坛。 1942年,他随上海一批地下党同志(如著名舞台设计家池宁等),再返新四军军部“鲁艺文工团”(担任表演组组长)。他在歌剧“军民进行曲”中的动人歌喉
