工程机械广泛用国民经济各个部门。进入70年代以来,工业发达国家在发展中小型液压挖掘机的同时,不断开发研制具有专门用途的特种挖掘机,其中包括为开发水下资源而研制的水中挖掘机和水陆两用挖掘机。初期开发的这种挖掘机斗容量为0.3~0.4m~3,用无线电遥控自动作业,作业水深3m,限制水深5m,行走速度2km/h,接地比压32kPa,最大挖掘半径7.7m,停机面最大挖深3.7m,主要用于水利建设、河道清淤等工程。
