When American feminist critics rebuild the tradition of women’s literature with “sisterhood,” she excludes Pearl S. Buck, the writer who always focuses on gender issues and women’s destiny. This article takes “Qunfang Pavilion” as an example to analyze the intrinsic reason why Pearl Buck’s works were rejected by feminist critics. The study found that because Pearl Buck’s cross-cultural perspective led to a misreading of the feudal autocratic Chinese system and attempts to use Chinese experience to provide inspiration for the liberation of American women, her works sometimes seem to promote patriarchal culture and are naturally Excluded from “their own literature.”
