The more-than-five-thousand-year history of the Chinese nation relies on is our line of cultural heritage. At this new historical period, with the tightening of international competition and increase in people’s cultural need, the demand of the advanced socialist culture has become more urgent. In the long-term and arduous task to promote the construction of advanced socialist culture, colleges and universities will undoubtedly play a more and more important role.At present, our country’s higher education taking a path in a connotative development. From the improvement of talent training quality, to the formation of a strong academic atmosphere; from kindling entrepreneurial passion amongst teachers and students, to taking on the responsibility of the society and the era, an all-round promotion of campus culture is indispensable. Research in the campus culture construction of higher agricultural colleges and universities is the urgent needs in the development of higher agricultural education. It is also of great significance for the train of ing high-quality agricultural talents, whose "heart is related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers". The results have to do with the successful implementation of "agriculture through science and education innovation" strategy, and it also determines whether "three agriculture" can work smoothly.The construction of characteristic campus culture is a beneficial exploration and practice in seeking a personalized development for higher agricultural colleges. Taking Sichuan Agricultural University as an example, this paper attempts to form some mutual construction both in theory and practice. Campus culture is composed of four parts:the university spirit as the soul and core, the physical environment as the foundation and conditions, management system as a guarantee measures, and, teacher and student behavior is a mirror and scale. The construction of characteristic campus culture is to build four-in-one ("spirit, environment, system, behavior") system, with systematic planning, coordination, focus, and uniqueness.Our construction ideas include:(1) firmly grasp the socialist school direction; (2) to inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation; (3) to highlight the disciplinary and professional characteristics of agricultural colleges and universities; (4) to form their own style and features. In the process of construction, it should be based on reality, reflect the characteristics of the present era, and fully meet the spiritual and cultural needs of teachers and students. It should take a long-term perspective, cultivate and develop the university spirit, and actively construct an advanced socialist culture which can take a lead in the future.As regards the optimal path, it should take cultivating university spirit as the core, following the main line as to show humane spirit, rely on improving the system of modern university, and put emphasis on the construction of good school spirit. Thus to promote the construction of campus culture with "spirit, environment, system, behavior" combined in one. In the process of construction, we attach importance not only to inheritance and accumulation, but also to breakthrough and innovation, figuring out a way of our own in the exploration and practice, sticking around to create three characteristics:agricultural characteristics, school characteristics and era charateristics.Under the new historical conditions, the higher agricultural colleges must adhere to the personalized campus culture construction, and strive to do your best to seek dislocation development, highlight the comparative advantages and establish its own brand.
