With the development of Chinas economy, Chinas automobile industry has enteredinto a new era. Chinas automobile companies not only have to deal withvigorouscompetition from domestic companies, but also have to deal with the threatfrom foreign companies, and face challenge of entering into other new markets. Howto become outstanding in domestic market, and how to keep well under the pressureand threat from global market. It is really an important subject for the automobilemanufacturing companies. To deal with these challenges, optimizingcompanies product development and production processes become more and moreimportant.
The ability of developing new products isquite important for a company to havesustainable development; it is a kind of driving force for a company. The advanced andpopular production and manufacturing standards,the project management theory andexperience of product development have not been totally introduced and practiced bythe domestic automobile manufacturing companies. The outdated management theoriesand methods have become an obstacle for the companies to form systematic,comprehensive and sustainable product management process. The outdatedmanagement methods must lead to outdated technics.
This paper madethe application of project management in the independent R&Dproject of truck as its object discussed and researched these following aspects:
At first, discussed history and development of project management, current researchsituation of domestic and oversea companies, and the application of projectmanagement in new product development.
At second, the paper analyzed the role of project management in project planning,development process controlling and team construction, according to the application ofproject management theories and methods in the case of new product development.The paper would also utilize these advanced management theories and methods tooptimize the process of new product development, and transfer these traditionalempirical and ambiguous management methods to systematic, comprehensive, andscientific management methods, to improve the quality of product development,reduce the cycle of product development, reduce the risk of product development, andimprove CSI (customer satisfaction index).
At last, optimize the process of new truck development, according to the projectmanagement theories and methods. Transfer the theories and experience to standardsand regulation, form a series of files and documents to direct the truck development.
