High Directivity THz Log Periodic Antenna with Luneburg Lenses

  A THz log-periodic toothed trapezoidal antenna with a high directivity and a wide operational bandwidth is reported.The log-periodic structure is used in the design to achieve wide bandwidth.A hemispherical dielectric lens is added to improve the directivity and the efficiency of the antenna.The simulated performance of the antenna shows that the use of Luneburg lens with appropriate materials and thickness can improve the directivity by about 8 dB and the side lobe by 10dB.
