Although HPV vaccination will likely be the ultimate cervical cancer prevention strategy,given its effectiveness, the worldwide familiarity and acceptance of vaccination as a preventive strategy, and relative ease of delivery, current HPV vaccines are prophylactic and do not treat pre-existing infections and related-conditions.
