Objective: To analyze the causes of revision for bone tumor salvage limb operations and assess treatment efficacy in such patients.Methods: Prosthesis reconstuction was performed in 95 patients between 1994 and 2008, 6 patients developed chronic infections with sinus tract.The management and outcome of the infections in all of these patients were analyzed.Results: Infection was successfully controlled with a two-stage revision in one patients.However, recurrence was the endresult in patients who underwent one-stage revision.The mean score of limb function was 17.Conclusion: Patients treated with tumour prosthesis have high infection rates.The treatment of infection in those patients with sinus tract is arduous and lengthy, with a substantial risk of amputation.
