The South African Rhizobium Culture Collection (SARCC) hosts more than 600 strains of Rhizobium/Bradyrhizobium capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen in various legume species ranging from crop and pasture plants to fodder trees and forests.About 15 highly effective strains have been developed in the past 20 years into commercial inoculants for agriculturally and economically important legumes used in the country.
