  The concepts of carbon neutrality and biodegradability attract considerable attention from the viewpoint of a recent environmental problem.Materials satisfying these from an engineering viewpoint include wood and biodegradable plastic.The detection of the defects of the wood is very important to keep soundness of the structure.Therefore,the technical development of the nondestructive evaluation is required.The wood is known as piezoelectric materials.Mechanical behavior of the wood using the piezoelectrical effect has been studied.The piezoelectric signal is connected with the detection and the deformation of the defect of the wood,stress-strain relation.Woods are often regarded as the bodies with D∞ symmetry.In this study,we solve the solution of the electroelastic problem of a semi-infinite piezoelectric body subjected to surface shear stress by using the method for the general solution of the electroelastic problem of a piezoelectric body with D∞ symmetry.Displacement,strain,stress,electric field and electric displacement are expressed by two elastic displacement potential functions and two piezoelectric displacement potential functions.They satisfy the Laplace equation about the spatial coordinates converted appropriately.We obtain the solution of strain,stress,an electric field,electric displacement by applying the Fourier transform technique to the equations.
