A Design of Laser Echo Simulator System with High Resolution

  The methods of maximum range and extinction ratio test are adopted in the echo detection technology of laser ranging system generally.These two methods are field-testing,which has the disadvantage of long cycle,high cost and impact on the performance of laser transmission from different external environment.The simulation system of laser distance measurement is simulated by FPGA technology in the outdoor space environment,generates high speed laser echo to receive system and achieves the goal of system distance simulation calibration and equipment calibration.In this paper,it was studied that the simulation of high speed narrow pulse laser echo signal.A pulsed laser driving circuit was designed of nanosecond pulse high current without oscillation.The fast PIN photodiode was used as the components to receive laser detector.FPGA programmable logic devices were used for software delay in digital system,which can simulate the long-range target in the indoor environment.It is well done in repeatability of the system.Furthermore,simulation precision is high.Experimental data shows that the system has a range of 40 m to 6000 m for simulation,and spatial resolution can reach 0.33 meters.
