Thanks to superior redox potential of platinum(Ⅱ) complex 1 to that of Ru(bpy)32+ in the excited state,[1] an efficient and selective visible-light-induced CDC reaction[2] has been developed by using 0.25% catalytic amount of 1.With the aid of 2 equiv of FeSO4, the corresponding amide could not be detected under visible light irradiation (λ =450 nm), but the desired cross-coupling product was obtained at ambient air condition exclusively.
