作为语言教学一个特殊的领域，汉语所面临的挑战具有当今时代的特点：多元文化理念对语言教学产生影响，学生语言学习目的变化，不断成熟的学习理论被借鉴，社会需求多样化，对教育质量之问责日益加强。本文从教与学、学术研究和社会功能三个关注点展开讨论，并探讨其相互之间密切的关系。
