Simultaneous determination of five lignans in total lignan of Schisandrae chinensis stems by HPLC

  Objective To develop a HPLC quantitative method for simultaneous determination of five lignans (schisandrin, schisandrol B, gomisin M2, deoxyschizandrin and γ-schizandrin) in total lignan of Schisandrae chinensis stems.Methods A C18 column (4.6 mm× 150 mm, Waters) was used.Acetonitrile-water was used as gradient mobile phase, and the gradient program was as follow: 0 min, 55% A;0-25 min, maintained at 55% A;25-30 min, liner increase to 60% A;30-50 min, subsequently changed linearly to 80% A;50-60 min, liner increase to 100% A.The detection wave length was set as 254 nan.Results The quantitative results of these five lignans were schisandrin of 16.8 mg/g, schisandrol B of 224.0 mg/g, gomisin M2 of 14.6 mg/g, deoxyschizandrin of 85.7 mg/g and γ-schizandrin of 7.5 mg/g.Conclusion This study provided a suitable method to analyze lignans in Schisandrae chinensis extracts and the developed method was accurate and feasible.
