Aluminium alloys are frequently used in the transportation industries because they are light in weight and easy to be processed and recycled, and they are commonly subject to anodizing treatment to enhance corrosion resistance.However, the anodic film of porous nature could not completely prevent aluminium alloys from localized corrosion, especially when the anodic film is relatively thin (thick anodic film could increase corrosion resistance but may deteriorate fatigue property).
