The current study investigated changes in volume, biomass (individual wet and dry weight),lipid classes and fatty acid profile during the embryonic development of the blue swimmer crab Portunus pelagicus. The volume, water contents and individual wet weight (WW) increased significantly during the egg development (P<0.05),and a significant correlation between egg volume and water content (n=20,r=0.897,P < 0.05) was detected.
